What You Will Do 

The ETS System Administrator supports customer-facing:

  • Infrastructure design
  • Procurement
  • Deployment and configuration
  • Support service activities

 

A Typical Day at Prime Controls 

  • Remotely support customer-facing systems, with access and exposure to a variety of different infrastructure and application environments.
  • Participate in IT/OT solutions and architecture design including on-prem servers and cloud-based computing options, virtualization, data protection and business continuity, and modern cybersecurity components and services (i.e., MFA, PAM, endpoint, SIEM, etc.).
  • Respond to (and resolve, where applicable) tickets assigned through customer support ticketing systems.
  • Perform proactive checks and complete planned maintenance tasks on applicable customer infrastructure.
  • Work efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary IT services team.
  • Demonstrate the capability to acclimatize to unfamiliar technologies and a determination to become accustomed and proficient in their administration and support.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and customers at varying levels of technical detail and complexity regarding direct areas of responsibility in both pre-deployment/design/planning and support capacities.
  • Document work performed, including configuration changes, additions and removals from systems, to ensure customer records are kept up to date.
  • Possess a basic working knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 networking fundamentals to assist in infrastructure and solution design, troubleshooting, and planning.
  • Communicate effectively to provide optimal support and to promote a professional climate throughout the organization.
  • Mentor IT team members who show interest in ETS areas of responsibility.
  • Travel should not exceed 20%.

  • Knowledge and Experience - associate or bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a college or technical school and more than two years of related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination professional training and experience.

  • Experience with:
  • Operational Technology Environments
  • AWS and/or Azure
  • Entra ID
  • Hybrid domain architecture
  • Nutanix AHV
  • Fortinet security products
  • Attainment of:
  • Microsoft Windows Server-related certifications (AZ-800 and AZ-801 preferred)
  • VMware VCP
  • All IT or OT related certifications are welcome and duly recognized
