As a Business Development Manager, you will drive strategic growth in the Oil & Gas, Energy, and General Industrial sectors across your assigned territory (Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and select national accounts). This is a high-impact role that blends technical knowledge with client-facing relationship development. You’ll inherit key accounts while focusing heavily on generating new business and managing a sales pipeline of ≥ $10M.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted business development plan by geography and/or market segment
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead technical and commercial conversations to uncover client needs and position tailored solutions
  • Own and manage a sales pipeline that contributes to $10M+ in annual sales revenue
  • Support the proposal process, including coordination with subject matter experts and final delivery
  • Prepare and deliver impactful client presentations and strategy briefings
  • Participate in commercial negotiations and client decision-making processes

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience
  • Proven understanding of Industrial Process Automation Systems, products, and services
  • Strong technical communication and consultative selling skills
  • Experience working in or with Oil & Gas/Energy sector clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing multimillion-dollar sales cycles and long lead-time projects
  • Familiarity with proposal development, RFP responses, and team-based selling
  • Prior success in a solution-based or technical sales environment

Tools & Technology

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Comfortable working with proposal collaboration tools like Adobe Acrobat
