We’re looking for a Construction Estimator to join our Water/Wastewater division. In this role, you’ll prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects—ranging from treatment plants to pump stations and pipeline systems. Your work will directly support our project teams in delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions to our clients.
Review drawings, specifications, RFQs/RFPs, and other project documents to prepare material, labor, and subcontractor cost estimates.
Analyze plans for process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation scopes, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
Develop detailed take-offs for process piping, equipment, and control systems from P&IDs and mechanical/electrical drawings.
Use estimating software and internal tools to build bids and proposals; maintain up-to-date pricing databases.
Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes and clarify scope details.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and job walks to validate labor and material estimates.
Provide quick-turn estimates for change orders and budgetary pricing requests.
Review completed projects to compare actual costs to estimates, identifying trends and recommending process improvements.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and schedules.
Proven experience estimating construction projects in the water/wastewater sector (municipal or industrial).
Knowledge of process piping, mechanical equipment, and electrical/control systems used in treatment plants, pumping stations, and related facilities.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical and electrical drawings, and technical specifications.
Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems and instrumentation/valve products a plus.
Proficiency in developing estimates at various design stages (conceptual through final bid).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF tools such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
Engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and relevant work experience.
