Overview

What You Will Do

 

As an Insurance Risk Analyst, you will support the company’s risk management strategy with a primary focus on insurance compliance, cost control, and administration of Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP). This role is responsible for maintaining accurate insurance records, managing contractor compliance, coordinating with insurance carriers, and providing analytical insight to ensure appropriate coverage across construction projects.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external brokers, carriers, and subcontractors to ensure insurance requirements are met while balancing risk exposure and cost efficiency.

 

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

  • Maintain and manage the Certificate of Insurance (COI) database for all construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Administer and oversee various Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP), including enrollment, reporting, ongoing compliance and cost reconciliation
  • Coordinate subcontractor enrollment in OCIP and track participation, exclusions, and status changes
  • Review insurance coverage requirements in contracts and confirm alignment with company and project needs
  • Monitor and support Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Builder’s Risk, and other project-related insurance programs
  • Assist with claims management, including documentation, reporting, and coordination with carriers and brokers
  • Analyze insurance data from audits, claims, and financial reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings
  • Serve as a liaison between Prime Controls, insurance carriers, brokers, and project teams
  • Support internal and external audits related to insurance and risk programs
  • Prepare reports and summaries for leadership related to insurance coverage, claims activity, and risk exposure
  • Partner with Safety, Legal, Finance, and Project Management teams to support overall risk mitigation efforts

What You Will Bring

The Basic

  • 3–5 years of experience in insurance administration, risk management, or a related role
  • Working knowledge of construction insurance wrap programs, including OCIP/CCIP/ROCIP
  • Understanding of Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Builder’s Risk, and subcontractor insurance requirements
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret claims data, audits, and financial reports
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal teams and external partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database or tracking systems

The Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with insurance audits, claims processes, and contract insurance language
  • Experience working directly with insurance brokers and carriers
