Overview

What You Will Do 

As a Foreman at Prime Controls, you will be responsible for leading field crews in the installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation, control systems, and electrical components. You will coordinate with superintendents, project managers, and safety personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications and company standards. 

A Typical Day at Prime Controls 

  • Supervise and direct a crew of electricians and apprentices on industrial job sites, assigning daily tasks and monitoring productivity. 
  • Interpret and implement electrical 2D drawings, electrical schematicsspecifications, and schedules 
  • Work with Superintendent to develop three (3) week work plans for your crew, detailing daily activities and resources needed to complete the activities per the work plan schedule. 
  • Coordinate material, tool, and equipment needs with the Superintendent and project coordinators. 
  • Perform quality inspections of installed work and coordinate corrections before inspections or walkthroughs.  
  • Conduct job site safety meetings and enforce compliance with safety policies 
  • Track daily progress and report labor hours, materials installed and impacts to planned schedule. 
  • Coordinate with project managers and superintendents on scheduling, materials, and change orders 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues related to instrumentation, controls, or electrical work 
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for assigned crew 
  • Provide hands-on assistance with installations, terminations, loop checks, and testing as needed 

 

What You Will Bring 

The Basic 

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical, controls, or I&C field installation work with two (2) years in a lead or foreman role 
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a construction or field environment 
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices and ability to read schematic wiring diagrams. 
  • Proven ability to lead crews and maintain worksite productivity and safety 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Familiarity with NEC and OSHA safety regulations 

 

The Preferred 

  • Journeyman License, although AZ does not require. 
  • OSHA 30 certification 
  • NCCER or other industry-recognized credentials 
  • Experience in industrial environments, such as semiconductor, data centerwater/wastewater, oil and gas, or other industrial facilities. 
  • Familiarity with Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and instrument installation schematics and wiring. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
